Rotaractor Zonal meet Club Service

Rotaractor Zonal meet

On 16th May 2026, the Rotaract Zonal Meet and UPAHAAR Programmed were successfully organized at Hotel Jahnabi. The event brought together Rotaractors from different clubs, district leaders, and distinguished guests for a day of fellowship, learning, and celebration. The Rotary Club of Bongaigaon actively participated in the programmed. Club President, Secretary, and several senior Rotarians attended the event and extended their support to the young leaders of Rotaract. As part of its commitment to youth development and community engagement, the Rotary Club of Bongaigaon proudly sponsored dinner for approximately 100 Rotaractors and guests attending the programmed.The sponsorship was highly appreciated by the participants and contributed significantly to the success of the event. The gathering strengthened the bond between Rotary and Rotaract while promoting the spirit of service, leadership, and fellowship. The programmed concluded on a positive note, inspiring all participants .

New Member Induction

The Rotary Club of Bongaigaon held its regular club meeting on 06 August 2025 with active participation from members. A major highlight of the meeting was the induction of three new members into the Rotary family. The newly inducted members were Rtn. Prasanta Roy, Rtn. Md. Affruddin Ahmed, and Rtn. Amal Kr. Deka. The induction ceremony was conducted by the Club President, who administered the Rotary oath and welcomed the new members to the club. Senior members briefed them about Rotary’s ideals, values, and commitment to community service. The President encouraged the inductees to actively participate in club activities and service projects and contribute their talents for the betterment of society. The club expressed confidence that the new members would bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and strength to its service initiatives. The meeting was attended by the District Governor, Assistant Governor, Club President, Secretary, Board Members, and club leaders. The President welcomed the District Governor and presented a brief overview of the club's activities and achievements. The Secretary presented reports on membership, service projects, Rotary Foundation contributions, youth programs, and club administration. Tree plantation

The Rotary International initiative “Unite for Good – Week-Long Tree Plantation Program” was successfully organized by the Rotary Club of Bongaigaon in association with the Bongaigaon Municipality Board at the Walking Zone, Eco Park and Dr. C.M. Das Memorial School campus, Bongaigaon. During the program, nearly 200 saplings of various species were planted by club members, municipal representatives, volunteers, and local citizens to promote environmental sustainability and increase green cover in the town. The plantation drive aimed to create awareness about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, reducing pollution, and ensuring a healthier future for coming generations. The event reflected the shared commitment of Rotary and the Municipality towards building a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable Bongaigaon through active community participation and environmental responsibility.

ROTARY CLUB OF BONGAIGAON – MONTHLY REPORT (MARCH: WATER & SANITATION MONTH) During March, Rotary Club of Bongaigaon actively observed Water & Sanitation Month through impactful service and awareness initiatives. The club identified nearby schools and communities lacking safe drinking water and sanitation facilities and planned suitable interventions. Awareness programs on hygiene and handwashing were conducted among students and local residents to promote healthy practices. Cleanliness drives were organized with active participation of members and volunteers, improving local surroundings and encouraging community responsibility. The club also emphasized water conservation through awareness sessions highlighting efficient use and rainwater harvesting. Discussions with community leaders focused on sanitation usage and behavioral change. Overall, the activities enhanced awareness, improved hygiene practices, and reflected Rotary’s commitment to “Service Above Self.”

CLUB MONTHLY REPORT

During the month of January 2026, the Rotary Club actively participated in district-level activities and successfully executed a meaningful community service project. Four Rotary members along with their spouses attended the Rotary District Conference held at Shillong (Larit i) from 09.01.2026 to 11.01.2026. The conference provided valuable exposure to Rotary programs, leadership development, fellowship, and exchange of ideas among Rotarians of the district, strengthening commitment towards Rotary ideals. In the area of community service, the club implemented Project Pure Drinking Water – TATA Swach Tech Jal at Chaprakata Papragaon High School. The project was undertaken to provide safe and pure drinking water to students and staff. The total cost of the project was ₹85,000/-, which was fully donated by club members. The project will have a lasting positive impact on health, hygiene, and well-being of the beneficiaries and reflects the club’s dedication to Service Above Self.
